Only allow GPU tasks

    I am setting up a new machine and only want to run GPU tasks on it, but Boinc keeps downloading Binary Aricebo cpu tasks as well.  How do I stop this?  I have the Einstein settings to do only GPU tasks.

      Make sure you have:

      • "Use CPU" set to NO
      • "Binary Radio Search (Arecibo, GBT) (BRP4)" unchecked
      • "Binary Radio Search (Arecibo, GBT, long) (BRP4G)" unchecked
      • "Run CPU versions of applications for which GPU versions are available" set to NO

      This should stop your Binary Arecibo downloads.

        Thanks so much.  I believe I found my problem.  I have all the settings as you suggested, except that I have on AMD and one nVidia GPU.  But, what you didn't mention and I spotted was the location.  It was set tp generic and I was setup on school.  Thus. when I changed generic by mistake, nothing happened, as it should.

        You made me look harder for the answer, assuring me that I had everything else properly set.

        I'm sure I will be having other problems, so stick around. &;)

          No problem.  That's what we're here for.

          Just remember...  the 'last' location you set (I assume it is online), also called venue, will be what BOINC picks up for it's settings for all projects unless you manually choose a different venue for each computer.
