Finally finished all the work on my boat today and got it launched, invited a friend and took it out for a spin around the lake, pure joy! =)
Tomorrow's forecast says it's gonna be around 27°C (more or less summer high in May) so I'll be spending the day on and in the water. Now that's what I call winning!

Sounds like pure joy, I am jealous!!!
If you happen to visit Sweden sometime then give me a shout and I'd be happy to take you out for a ride! =)
And the forecast was good so I spent the day on the lake building up a nice tan and when it got to hot the water offered a nice 21-22°C coolness.
But now the last few days heatwave is over and it's back to more normal temps around 20°C...

I'm pretty sure the only way I will ever visit Sweden is in my dreams, but thanks for the offer! As for the water temps that is pretty warm for me this time of year, ours is still in the 12-15C range.
Saturday and Sunday were good. Aching feet, but nothing else, and saw good stuff happen. (Frisco 1630 pulled its first passengers in 10 years. I worked the train Sunday, the second day.) Sat around doing nothing all day Monday and still feel exhausted today, but I'll recover.
My best friend got rid of his swimming pool and is setting up a new one while he's off this week. Hopes to have it ready by the time he goes back to 2 straight weeks of work on Saturday. I shall have to stop by for a dip, if it's warm enough.
Definitely winning!

VERY COOL!!! I think it's time for a dip in your friends pool even if he is at work!! You can tell him you are just 'testing it out for him'.

I have a moderate fear of swimming alone. Also, he doesn't want me using his ladder to get in and out because of my weight. But I can wait if I have to.

I would think swimming would be fun due to the waters ability to hold things up, ie aircraft carriers, I too am a big guy and love to float. As for ladders I too am not happy on them anymore, 2 foot surgeries, so often bring one I like if I know I am going to need one. I don't like the very small treads most have these days. Oh and as for 'swimming alone' it's okay, just think 'stand up' when things go badly. MOST above ground swimming pools are no more then 48 inches deep, standing up should put your head above water, I KNOW fears are not rational though.

Right about fears not being rational.
He says his new pool is 5 feet deep, which is deeper than the old one. It's not over my head, but it's up there. My fear is that I will fall down and be unable to get my feet under me so I can stand up. Maybe the deeper pool will actually be better -- more room to get them under me. We'll see. As for floating, my belly tends to float up and feels weird. Need to work on that.
He says he finished filling it last night. I asked about the temperature, but he didn't answer yet. Maybe I'll take a dip tonight or tomorrow night.

Yup belly up does feel funny at first! But floating is fun after while, just laying their watching the clouds go by, staying warm, etc. Temps will probably be very cool for a few days, until the sun comes out and warms it up. Few people want to pay for for hot water to be put in their pools so use cold water and let mother nature do the warming. Although I did use to work part-time installing gas lines to pool heaters for rich people. Running propane lines from a large in-ground tank to the grill, pool and fireplace was not easy as everyone puts the tank in the woods! The lines around me MUST be no less then 18 inches underground, way too many roots etc to make it easy!!
